Smt. Lavanya

Where there is a will, there is a way! This is 200% true for our BVKaite Mrs Lavanya who got selected into Group I. It would be surprising to note that a speech during the college annual function helped her set a goal and work towards achieving it. She studied Intermediate and Degree from BVK College. Shri Ajay Kalam, the then District Collector was invited as the chief guest for BVK Jr. College Annual function. His speech motivated young Lavanya and she decided that she would be an IAS too. After graduation, she completed her Masters in Economics with two gold medals from Central University, Hyderabad. She married Capt. Sriram Ravichander in 2000. She traveled to Gujarath, Bangalore, Mumbai and even abroad as his job demanded. In spite of this hectic life along with two kids, she never forgot her dream from her college days. In 2007, they came back to India for good and Lavanya saw the notification for Group-I. She studied hard for the same while fulfilling her responsibilities as a home maker. She achieved 471 marks and is soon going to take up her employment.

It was not a rosy path that led to this success. There were many sleepless nights behind this achievement. There were days when she woke up at 3.30 am to study. There were times when she took care of her family that included her aging in-laws and worked hard till 12 in the night. She proudly says that her family completely supported her in her studies. She succeeded in Group I in her first attempt itself. She is a role model to many women who want to live their dream while continuing to be home makers. She says that this achievement has boosted her self-confidence and is determined to succeed in Civil services too. BVK Alumni wishes Lavanya success in every walk of her life.
